Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of monthly Car Rental?
Choosing a monthly rental is the most cost-effective and convenient way to stay mobile in the UAE. Key benefits include:
Significant Cost Savings: While daily rentals are great for short trips, they come at a premium. Monthly rates are heavily discounted, often reducing the “per day” cost by 30% to 50%.
No Long-Term Commitment: Unlike a car lease or bank loan, a monthly rental gives you the flexibility to return the car or switch models at the end of the month without hefty “exit fees.”
All-Inclusive Pricing: Your monthly fee typically covers registration, routine maintenance, and basic insurance. You don’t have to worry about the hidden costs of ownership.
Free Service & Replacement: If the car needs servicing, we handle it. We’ll even provide a replacement vehicle so your daily routine remains uninterrupted.
How are Salik (Toll) charges handled?
n the UAE (specifically Dubai), Salik is an automated toll system.
Every time you pass through a Salik gate, the toll is recorded via a chip on the windshield.
We will track these charges and bill them to you at the end of your rental period or on a monthly basis. A small processing fee may apply per gate crossing.
What is the Deposit Policy?
To ensure a smooth rental experience, we require a security deposit before the vehicle is released. Here are the key details you should know:
Deposit Amount: The amount depends on the category of the car you choose.
Economy/Standard Cars: AED 1,000 – AED 2,500
Luxury/Premium SUVs: AED 3,000 – AED 10,000+
Payment Method: We strongly recommend using a Credit Card for the deposit. In the UAE, the deposit is usually “blocked” (pre-authorized) on your card rather than “charged.” This means the money stays in your account but is temporarily frozen.
Refund Timeline (21–30 Days): Per UAE regulations (Department of Economy and Tourism), deposits are released within 21 to 30 days after you return the car.
Why the delay? Traffic fines and Salik (toll) charges in the UAE can sometimes take up to 15 days to appear in the official government systems. We wait for this period to clear to ensure there are no outstanding liabilities.
Deductions: The deposit is fully refundable unless there are:
Outstanding traffic fines or parking tickets.
Accumulated Salik (toll) charges.
Excessive cleaning requirements or fuel shortages.
Damage to the vehicle not covered by insurance (e.g., if a police report is missing).
Pro Tip: If you use a credit card, the “block” will automatically expire and disappear from your statement. If you use a debit card, the amount is physically withdrawn and will be wired back to you, which may incur small bank processing fees.
What is the Policy if I violate any Traffic Rules?
In the UAE, traffic laws are strictly enforced to ensure road safety. If a violation occurs while you are in possession of the rental vehicle, the following policy applies:
Responsibility for Fines: The renter is 100% liable for all traffic fines incurred during the rental period. This includes speeding, illegal parking, lane violations, and mobile phone usage.
Notification Process: Since fines are registered against the vehicle’s number plate, our office is notified first (usually within 24–72 hours). We will then notify you via email or WhatsApp with the specific details of the violation.
Payment & Admin Fees: We will pay the fine on your behalf to the authorities. The total amount, including the actual fine value plus a standard administrative fee (usually between AED 50 – AED 100 per fine), will be deducted from your security deposit or charged to your credit card on file.
Black Points: If a violation carries “Black Points,” you must provide your driving license details so the points can be transferred to your record as per UAE law.
Impoundment: For serious offenses that require vehicle impoundment, the renter is responsible for paying the “impoundment waiver fee” or the daily rental rate for the duration the car is held by the police.
Pro Tip: You can monitor your fines in real-time using the Dubai Police or RTA mobile apps by entering the vehicle’s plate details.
What Documents are required to rent a Car in UAE?
To ensure a smooth pickup, please have the following ready:
For UAE Residents: A valid UAE Driving License and Emirates ID.
For Tourists/Visitors: A valid original Passport, a Visit Visa (or entry stamp), and a valid Home Country Driving License.
Note: Visitors from certain countries may also require an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Is there an Age Limit for Car Rental Service in the UAE?
Yes, there are specific age requirements to ensure you are fully covered by insurance. While the legal driving age in the UAE is 18, the rules for renting are slightly different:
Minimum Age (Standard Cars): To rent an economy or standard vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old.
Minimum Age (Luxury/Sports Cars): For high-performance vehicles, premium SUVs, or luxury brands, the minimum age is usually 25 years.
Young Driver Surcharge: If you are between 21 and 24 years old, some insurance providers require a “Young Driver Surcharge.” This is a small additional fee to cover the higher insurance risk for younger drivers.
Maximum Age: Most rental companies in the UAE have a maximum age limit of 70 to 75 years. If you are over 70, you may be asked to provide a medical fitness certificate to ensure you are fit to drive.
Note: Regardless of your age, you must have held a valid driving license for at least one year (some luxury models may require 2-3 years of driving experience).
What happens in case of an Accident or Breakdown?
Safety is our priority. In the event of an accident:
Call the Police (999): You must obtain a Police Report. Without this report, insurance companies in the UAE will not cover the damages.
Contact Us: Notify our 24/7 support team immediately.
Insurance Coverage: If you have the police report and were not at fault, you are typically covered. For “at-fault” incidents, you will only be liable for the insurance excess amount specified in your contract.
